Selenite is, to me, one of the most important stones you can have — and this 6" mushroom lamp is one of my favorite ways to bring her into your space. She is a cleansing stone that never needs to be cleansed. She is constantly pulling in all less-than-light energy and transmuting it to the divine. She never stops working. Even when the area is clear, she sits and waits and clears any negative energy that comes into her path.

I believe she works closely with Archangel Michael — who is often said to vacuum negative energy from the aura when called to. In my understanding, Michael’s powerful sword is forged with a selenite blade. That’s the kind of energy she carries.

In meditation, her constant cleansing moves through the chakras naturally, bringing them into alignment. And when the chakras align, you are better able to connect with the divine. In healing work, she helps remove the blocks held from past trauma — not forcefully, but gently — creating the space for healing to begin.

I love her on a nightstand, an altar, or beside a meditation cushion. When she’s lit, she casts the softest pearly glow — warm and luminous, like moonlight held in stone. She is as beautiful as she is powerful, and I find her presence genuinely comforting.

A few things to know about her nature: selenite is delicate. She is water-soluble gypsum — please don’t clean her with water or salt, and keep her away from humidity. She may shed a little; that’s just her structure — thousands of tiny hair-like crystals all growing together as one. Oils from your hands or ash from ceremony won’t diminish her. She is still working, always. Each lamp is hand-selected, one at a time, with intention.

Her name comes from the Ancient Greek word for Moon, and you’ll understand why the moment you see her glow. Some of the largest crystals ever found have been selenite — the Naica Mine in Mexico holds formations so massive they make people look like ants. The temperatures reached 136°F and the mine was eventually closed and flooded, allowing the selenite to continue growing undisturbed. That is the scale of energy this stone carries.
