Selenite is, to me, one of the most important stones you can have — and this 6" mushroom lamp is one of my favorite ways to bring it into your space. It is a cleansing stone that never needs to be cleansed. It is constantly pulling in all less-than-light energy and transmuting it to the divine. It never stops working. Even when the area is clear, it sits and waits and clears any negative energy that comes into its path.

I believe it works closely with Archangel Michael — who is often said to vacuum negative energy from the aura when called to. In my understanding, Michael’s powerful sword is forged with a selenite blade. That’s the kind of energy it carries.

In meditation, its constant cleansing moves through the chakras naturally, bringing them into alignment. And when the chakras align, you are better able to connect with the divine. In healing work, it helps remove the blocks held from past trauma — not forcefully, but gently — creating the space for healing to begin.

I love it on a nightstand, an altar, or beside a meditation cushion. When it’s lit, it casts the softest pearly glow — warm and luminous, like moonlight held in stone. It is as beautiful as it is powerful, and I find its presence genuinely comforting.

A few things to know about its nature: selenite is delicate. It is water-soluble gypsum — please don’t clean it with water or salt, and keep it away from humidity. It may shed a little; that’s just its structure — thousands of tiny hair-like crystals all growing together as one. Oils from your hands or ash from ceremony won’t diminish it. It is still working, always. Each lamp is hand-selected, one at a time, with intention.

Its name comes from the Ancient Greek word for Moon, and you’ll understand why the moment you see its glow. Some of the largest crystals ever found have been selenite — the Naica Mine in Mexico holds formations so massive they make people look like ants. The temperatures reached 136°F and the mine was eventually closed and flooded, allowing the selenite to continue growing undisturbed. That is the scale of energy this stone carries.
