Orange Calcite comes from the soft crystal family of Calcites. It is not usually so orange as its name implies — more of a yellow-orange, like an egg-yolk color. Calcites are common and found all over the world, but the largest source of beautiful Orange Calcite is Mexico. Orange Calcite as a crystal companion is like having your own personal ray of Sunshine at your service. It is vivid and bright, and helps to banish such less-than-light energies as fear and heaviness.
Its energy is carefree and playful. It energizes one to get moving in the direction of one's dreams. About the Stone
Calcite is calcium carbonate, soft and cleaving in three directions; the orange comes from trace iron, and Mexico is the source of the best banded material. Orange Creamsicle Calcite is the same stone in its banded orange-and-cream look. Orchid Calcite is a different product — Orange Calcite grown with Black Tourmaline.
Care
Soft and acid-sensitive: keep it away from vinegar, citrus and household cleaners, dust it dry rather than soaking, and store it apart from harder stones. Keep it out of prolonged sun. Cleanse it with moonlight or a smudge.
