Sodalite is a stone whom I describe with one phrase: She Eliminates Confusion.  She is a third eye stone who works with the energies vibrating from the pineal gland to separate and sort all the mess that is vibrating around us so that we might better see the bigger picture and be better able to know what we want and where we stand.

She is a gateway to other realms, meditation with her can help one attain the depths of the realm of healing and the heights of the realm of knowledge.   Meditating with her over time she increases consciousness helping one to “Wake Up”.  Once “Woke” she facilitates a sense of balance and tranquility often associated with inner peace.

She is often mistaken by the untrained eye as Lapis Lazuli.  In fact, she is a mineral that is in Lapis Lazuli but can also stand alone.  She can stand alone or with calcite - when her deep blue is interrupted by patches of white, that is calcite.

What you will not find in her makeup is Pyrite, also know as Fools Gold.  The inclusion of Pyrite, our next mineral, would make her Lapis Lazuli.

As you advance in your crystal knowledge, telling Sodalite from Lapis gets easier.  The color is slightly different due to the inclusion of Lazulite in Lapis and Lapis always has traces of golden pyrite.
