About the Stone
Clear or milky quartz threaded with needles of black tourmaline. The tourmaline grew first and the quartz formed around it — the dark was there first, and the light grew around it, which is why "balances opposing energies" is close to literal.
Care
The tourmaline needles are lines of weakness; a sharp knock can split the stone along one. Otherwise durable — warm water and a soft cloth. Cleanse it with sage or moonlight.
