Rhodonite is a pink manganese silicate mineral with black manganese oxide dendrites flowing through it and growing with it. It is fairly uncommon, found in a few remote spots around the globe, though larger deposits have been found in places like Russia, where it was proudly used to decorate the palaces of the Czars.
Rhodonite is my go-to stone to reduce stress and anxiety. There are many stones whose purpose is to reduce stress — however the high heart chakra love bath of Rhodonite, coupled with the heavy grounding strength of its black dendrites, creates a safe, high-vibration frequency bubble to allow the stressors of the day to melt away. It is a catalyst for slow, steady and reliable change. With Rhodonite you are grounded while being bathed in an energy of high-vibration brotherly love. This is a gentle way to move from one state of being to another — a great companion for a change of behavior, such as quitting smoking.

How to Use a Mala
Hold the mala in your right hand, draped over the middle finger, and move it bead by bead with your thumb — one breath, or one repetition of your mantra, per bead. Start at the bead beside the guru bead and travel the circle; when you reach the guru bead again you have counted 108. Turn around rather than crossing it, and begin again if you wish.
Wearing & Care
Take the mala off for showers, swimming and sleep; the cord lasts years when it stays dry. Store it flat or hung, not knotted in a pocket. Avoid long soaking and anything acidic. Cleanse it with sage or moonlight.
