Sweetgrass Braid

The strands of the Braid symbolizes gentleness, love and kindness. It pulls all energies toward it. (Spirits are attracted to it.) In the trinity of the smudging ceremony, Sweetgrass is used call the energies forth, followed with Sage to clear and cleanse the energies, then finish with Palo Santo to raise vibration.

Sage and Smudging is the quickest way to clear out negative energy from objects, surroundings and all of your sacred spaces.

It is used to purify one's aura before a ceremony.

It is one of the oldest and most well-known herbs for energy cleansing.

The use of sage and smudge is deeply rooted in Native American history. Sage and other sacred herbs were planted around crops to protect the food from hungry animals - they don’t taste good! Sage was also used for spiritual healing, energy cleansing, to remove negative energy and ritual ceremonies. Today white sage is used prior to ceremony and ritual to give attendees a balanced energy and pure thoughts going in.

Smudge

Whenever you need to re-balance your mental body (self-destructive/limiting thought patterns) or emotional body (fear, anger, heaviness), or when you desire to let go of/transform any negative energy that is not for your highest purpose and deepest essence. 

** Please make sure that a smudge stick is COMPLETELY out before leaving the area unattended ** Keep out of reach of children, animals and away from any flammable materials **

Burning Instructions: 

Light (sage bundle, smudge stick) the "wand" at the end of the bundle that has the least amount of stems (versus the end that is more leafy)

Then waft around the space (often times utilizing a feather) 

or place the burning wand on a safe heat resistant surface (often times an Abalone Shell or Lions Paw Shell)

** Keep out of reach of children, animals and flammable material **

"OM" the end with the last stems of your bundle and waft around the space (sometimes utilizing a father) OR place the burning wand on a safe, heat resistant surface.

Cleansing Your Stones and Jewelry:

Your gemstones will work best when they are cleared and cleansed. 

Steadily hold your crystals or jewelry pieces in the smoke of a burning smudge until the smoke flows in a steady stream up after circling around the stone or piece.

NEVER harvest white sage from national parks or native land.  It is not yours to take. 

Sage can be farm grown in sustainable ways - this sage comes from a farm in Mexico.

Burn with care and never leave a lit bundle unattended. Sold for smudging and ritual use — not for internal use.
