Carnelian is from the Agate family and is also known as Red Agate. It has a milky transparency to its red-orange color and often has the bands we so typically associate with Agate. Agate is a gentle grounding stone with protective energies, which is what gives Carnelian its strength of purpose and the solid foundation to do as it is called to do.
