Rough Mexican Mahogany Obsidian: natural Mahogany Obsidian, left rough and unpolished, as it came from the earth. In Sacred Crystals' teaching Mahogany Obsidian is the Stone of Strength and Focus — chakras: Root, Heart and Third Eye.
Mahogany Obsidian blocks out negativity and restores inner strength, helping you stand firmly in your truth — and stand in your passions. The mahogany swirls are iron — hematite or magnetite in the black volcanic glass. Same material as Black Obsidian, its own teaching; chief source Mexico.
Volcanic glass: chipped edges can be sharp, and it scratches more easily than quartz. Store apart from harder stones; avoid thermal shock. Cleanse it with sage or moonlight.
