From India, this is a healing stone for body, mind and spirit.  She can increase concentration, honesty and memory.  She also protects her human crystal allies from psychic attack, thereby preventing negative energy from harming you, but she is oh so gentle.  She helps us overcome negative emotions by bringing love into the chakras.  Her milky honey shade is like a cleansing soap that is gently washing out the chakras so that they might all flow with love. There are many varieties of Agate, each with a slightly different energy.  These energies are based on factors such as the color of the agate and the geographic location in which the agate developed.  Agate is very closely related to the mineral Chalcedony, in fact, they are the same stone.  The Chalcedony is the milky translucent part of the stone whereas Agate is defined by the banding.  (ie, Blue Lace Agate and Blue Chalcedony are the same stone, one has bands (Lace) and one does not.). They are both Microcrystalline forms of Quartz (The most common mineral in the planet, yet more rare in its pure crystalline form).  Often in Agate Geodes you will find Crystalline Quartz patches in the center with the Microcrystalline Chalcedony and Agate surrounding it to the outer edge of the Geode.

Basically, any stone that has a milky translucence and is not in the crystalline quartz family falls into the agate family - which is why sometimes shop owners and crystal dealers will simply say a stone is an Agate if it is translucent and they don’t know exactly what it is.  (If the stone is opaque they might say Jasper for the same reason, lol.)

Long a protective talisman used in the armor of warriors and as amulets of Everyman, all Agate provides Protection and Strength.    He is a stone of Harmony and Balance, providing an energy of order to the chaos of everyday life.  He is a great choice for energetic home decor for this reason.
